First Presbyterian Update 8.9.22

Community Meal Held on Monday, August 8th - This free meal is served monthly on the second Monday of the month. You can drive-through or come inside to eat. Thanks to our hard-working crew who love this mission outreach and are there to serve with open hearts, hands, and minds. Volunteers included Tom Ellison, Betty Stelmazewski, Susan Wells, Sue Tomlin, Susan Gajewski, and Joyce Carpenter. About 60 lunches were served , with $97 received in donations which will be used to purchase supplies for the next meal. All are welcome. Our church is open to you and invites you to share in this meal!

Sunday Worship at 9:15 a.m. - There will be communion celebrated this Sunday, August 14th ,officiated by Pastor Tom Ellison. Message for the day: "Not the happiest of words." A quote from the call to confession: “Remember Abbott and Costello? "; I've been a bad, bad boy,"  We all fit that description, regardless of our gender. Let us now come to God and admit our sin.” You won’t want to miss Tom’s message - - always a surprise!!

We hope that you will join us and stay after the service for coffee, food, and fellowship.

Discussion Group Following worship: We are focusing on: Building congregational vitality. We welcome anyone to join us in the kitchen immediately following worship. Print out the guideline for discussion by accessing at: www.presbyterianmission.org › uploads › vital-congregations-toolkit. Last week’s discussion focused on the “life-cycle of a worshiping congregation.” The diagram used included ways to “circle back” to a thriving stage with intentional works to re-define our vision and re-develop the worshiping community as needed.
